This observational documentary tracks Aldente theater’s journey, from spontaneous rehearsals to the firmer form at Co.Labs theatre stage. It captures the exuberance and playfulness of their summer training camp which almost seamlessly transform into parts of the original play ‘The Brides,’ woven particularly from fragments of two Erben’s ballads. The movie depicts this intuitive search for a straightforward, yet visually captivating theatrical form, and gradual refinement of its elements (music, lighting and choreography). Last but not least, it unveils Jitka Vrbková’s directing method and her actor-specific approach, which derives the character of each theatre piece from the distinctiveness of its actors, whether they have Down syndrome or not.
