Be IN! is a project supported by the Erasmus + program in the field of cooperation in innovation and exchange of best practices in the field of youth education. Three European theatres have joined the project, all sharing in common that that they create theatrical productions with actors with disabilities (especially with intellectual and psychosocial)) on a professional basis. These activities are supplemented by other educational activities: Blue Apple from Winchester (GB) has experience in staging major world dramas. They demonstrate that even a person with an intellectual or psychosocial disability can stand on stage and speak to the audience through a great story; that even Shakespeare’s original verses are not an obstacle. The theatre also collaborates with students of from the University of Winchester. Theatre 21 from Warsaw (PL) provokes critical thinking in their audiences with the dramaturgy of its their productions. Theatre 21 deepens the challenges offered to audiences through workshops for schools, and also works closely with university students. The Aldente Theatre from Brno (CZ) works closely with the JAMU Faculty of Theater in Brno and the MU Faculty of Education and offers both appealing social topics within its productions and workshops for primary and secondary schools. The external view is provided by the Rytmus organization, which has assembled a team of young researchers – 7 students who, under the guidance of a psychologist and a creative teacher, monitor the activities of theatres and the reactions of spectators. As representatives of the young generation, they will ask questions for reflection, reflect on the audience’s reactions and present their feelings, opinions, and ideas to the theatres. At the end of the project, they will share their reflection on project activities with the wider public. More information about the project.
